Road trip part one...

For Thanksgiving, since the kids had an entire week off of school we thought we would drive on up to CheyAnne's and Jeremy's house in Ohio before we went to my parents house in Maryland for Thanksgiving. We are so glad we did it. It was only for a couple of days but These kids had a blast! We don't get to see CheyAnne's family very often so it was a real treat for us to be able to go. These are just 8 of the 15 grand kids on Brooke's side of the family. Not only do we get to see them for Thanksgiving, we also get to see them at Grandma's and Grandpa's house in Idaho for Christmas, we love our cousins.

This was SO NOT Easton on our very long road trip! But at some point in the game I said, "Just give him the can of pringles, it doesn't matter if he dumps it all over himself, at least he's not screaming!" and sure enough a minute later he was in pringle heaven. It didn't last long. I can't blame him we were in the car for a grand total of less than 5 days, I would be screaming at everyone too if I were a two year old. Some of his highlights on the trip for him were:
1) a lot of screaming
2) wanting a full water bottle all to himself (mostly to dump on himself).
3) wanting full cans of pringles just to dump all over himself and make an even bigger mess out of our Yukon.
4) dumping his juice box all over the leapster, just for fun (we thought he was being too quiet back there, we should have known).
5) This takes the cake-- him asking to play his brother's DS (he's 2), not after the leapster incident.
This was definitely Cooper the entire trip! Because of all the water he drank, yes we did have to pee A LOT! Some of Cooper's highlights were...
1) Peeing at the gas station
2) Peeing at the rest area stop on the road in front of the car (he couldn't wait for me to get my shoes on to take him 100 feet away to the restrooms.
3) Peeing off the side of the road (one of the nice things about traveling with boys).
4) The grand finale... peeing in a bottle more than a few times.
This kid would pee at a gas station and then 2 minutes later had to pee again!
The pee got a little out of hand.
The twins were pretty good as long as they had some kind of electronic device keeping them busy. They were Easton's little gofers. Whoever sat next to Easton had gofer duty, anything Easton wanted one of the 2 had to get, weather they liked it or not. That explains the juice doused leapster. Rustin said he wanted the Leapster so that's what he gave him. The only thing the twins struggled with were the seat belts! You would think that an almost 8 year old would remember to put their seat belt on, but no! I think the line I said the most the entire trip was,
"Put your seat belt on."
"Why is your seat belt not on."
"I told you 5 minutes ago to put your seat belt on."
Oh, that cycle went on endlessly! Aside from all of that the ride was just peachy. To see family, we would do it all over again!
